Republic Plaza Food Picks for Quick Lunches and Easy Meet-Ups

If you pass through the area regularly, you already know that Republic Plaza is more than just a distinctive landmark against the city’s skyline. Located at 9 Raffles Place, Singapore 048619, the building sits right above Raffles Place MRT, making it one of the most conveniently located lunch spots in the CBD. And unlike a lot of office towers, this one actually has a food scene worth talking about.

Republic Plaza runs across three levels of dining and retail, with most of the action happening in the basement retail enclave. The team spent a full week working our way through it, floor by floor, to bring you a proper rundown of what’s good, what surprised us, and what we’d go back for. Here’s what we found.

Our Shortlist of Republic Plaza Eats

Republic Plaza already offers plenty of choices when meeting friends around the city, from quick rice meals to pasta and coffee stops. If your group is looking for Japanese options beyond Raffles Place, you can also explore our guide to sushi spots near MRT stations across Singapore.

1. Green Chili (#B1-17) — The Ayam Bakar That Made Us Go Back Twice

A three-panel collage showcasing Green Chili Rice Chicken at Republic Plaza. The large image on the left shows the modern takeaway stall with a clean, minimalist counter, digital ordering kiosk, illuminated Green Chili logo, and menu displays. The top-right image features a takeaway box filled with white rice, crispy fried chicken topped with fragrant curry leaves, and a generous serving of richly spiced curry chicken. The bottom-right image shows another takeaway box with vibrant yellow turmeric rice, grilled chicken topped with chopped green chilies, caramelized onions, fresh cucumber slices, pickled vegetables, and a serving of sambal, highlighting the restaurant's signature Malaysian-inspired rice dishes.

We weren’t expecting much from a rice stall in a basement food hall, to be honest. But Green Chili caught our attention on day one and we ended up returning before the week was out.

The Order That Stood Out

The order to get here is the Turmeric Rice with Ayam Bakar and Special Green Chilli, priced at S$8.50. The ayam bakar comes grilled with a smoky char, served alongside fragrant yellow rice and a green chilli sauce that has genuine heat without being one-note. One of our team members declared it better than some nasi lemak combos they’d paid more for nearby.

The Little Details

What stood out was how efficiently Green Chili handles the weekday rush. The generous portions makes it a good choice for office workers looking for a proper meal without spending too much time away from their desks.

Price: S$8.50 | Location: #B1-17

2. The Soup Store (#B1-22) — Warm Bowls Hidden in Plain Sight

A three-panel collage featuring The Soup Spoon at Republic Plaza. The large image on the left shows the restaurant's bright, minimalist interior with wooden tables and stools, exposed industrial ceilings, and a bold red "The Soup Store" sign above the ordering counter as customers walk past. The top-right image displays a nourishing meal set with a bowl of clear herbal soup filled with white fungus, shimeji mushrooms, carrots, and goji berries, served alongside brown rice and a plate of steamed bok choy, lotus root, black fungus, and beans. The bottom-right image showcases a plate of springy noodles topped with crispy fried shallots, accompanied by bok choy, black fungus, lotus root, beans, mushrooms, and mixed pickled vegetables, creating a colorful and wholesome meal.

A lot of us were craving very specific different things that day: ginseng chicken soup, fish maw, and a detox kelp soup. And we eventually found a place that serves one of them. Thats where The Soup Store saves the day. It operates a bit like a daily herbal bar.

The Order That Stood Out

The ginseng chicken soup was our pick. It was warm and slightly sweet, the kind of thing that makes you feel like someone’s mum put it together. One team member joked that it was basically a medical appointment disguised as lunch.

The Little Details

The Soup Store brings a different pace to the Republic Plaza food scene. Instead of another rice bowl or sandwich, it offers a warm soup-based meal with rice, built around natural ingredients and a style of cooking that avoids relying heavily on preservatives.

Whether you are looking for a nourishing lunch or simply craving a bowl of soup after exploring the area, this is the kind of place we would miss and come back to for a simple, well-prepared soup meal in the city.

3. Ha Jun Korean (#B1-04) — Set Meals That Actually Fill You Up

A three-panel collage featuring HA-JUN Korean at Republic Plaza. The large image on the left shows the casual Korean restaurant with its bright orange "HA-JUN Korean" sign, blue lantern-style decorations, outdoor seating, and office workers walking past the storefront. The top-right image displays a Korean bento set with crispy breaded prawns, sliced fried chicken drizzled with sauce, steamed white rice, kimchi, and a creamy dipping sauce arranged in separate compartments. The bottom-right image showcases a sizzling Korean meal with grilled mackerel and spicy stir-fried pork served on a hot plate, accompanied by steamed rice sprinkled with black sesame seeds, clear soup, kimchi, and small side dishes, offering a hearty and traditional Korean dining experience.

Ha Jun keeps things simple with the kind of Korean meals that feel familiar from the first bite. While we usually shop around for places that offer something beyond the usual set meals, this compact Korean eatery surprised us with its straightforward approach and affordable options.

The Order That Stood Out

The Salmon and Beef Bento, priced at around S$9.70, comes with rice, two proteins and a selection of small sides. The salmon brings a savoury grilled flavour, while the beef adds a richer element to the plate. We paired it with a Korean Barley Tea, which added a light, slightly nutty finish to the meal.

The Little Details

What we liked about Ha Jun was how it focuses on familiar Korean flavours without overcomplicating the experience. The bento feels thoughtfully put together, with enough variety from the proteins and side dishes to keep each bite interesting.

Price: ~S$9.70 | Location: #B1-04

4. Tangled (#B1-20) — Fresh Pasta Done Simply

A three-panel collage featuring a modern healthy food concept at Republic Plaza. The large image on the left shows the sleek takeaway counter with illuminated arrow branding, digital menu boards displaying grain bowls, salads, and wraps, and a minimalist industrial design. The top-right image showcases a vibrant squid ink pasta bowl topped with grilled prawns, cherry tomatoes, diced mango, seaweed flakes, sesame seeds, and herbs. The bottom-right image features a wholesome green pasta salad topped with sliced poached chicken breast, roasted cherry tomatoes, leafy greens, seeds, and a light seasoning, highlighting the restaurant's fresh, nutritious, and contemporary meal offerings.

Tangled is the kind of stall that could easily get overlooked, positioned mid-row in the basement without much visual fanfare. That would be a mistake. They offer options that highlight seasonal vegetables, mushrooms and other produce, showing how the stall brings variety beyond the usual pasta combinations.

The Order That Stood Out

We ordered the Pesto Besto (S$10.90), featuring spinach fusilli tossed in pesto and topped with salmon. The pasta had a pleasant bite that made it feel different from standard dried alternatives, while the pesto brought a herby flavour without becoming too heavy. The salmon added a savoury element, and the addition of fresh ingredients keeps the dish feeling balanced.

The Little Details

One of us noted it reminded us of something you’d get at a small trattoria in a quiet part of town, the kind of place where the recipes haven’t changed in years.

What we didn’t expect was how light it felt afterward. No heavy stomach, no energy crash. Tangled doesn’t try to do too much, which is exactly why it works. A clean, wholesome bowl of pasta in a CBD basement is rarer than it should be.

Price: S$10.90 | Location: #B1-20

5. Al Marche (#B1-02) — Fresh Sandwiches and Salads With A Little More Care

A three-panel collage featuring AL Marché at Republic Plaza. The large image on the left shows the bright, modern deli-style eatery with a prominent green "AL MARCHÉ" sign, an open kitchen, and a service counter displaying freshly prepared meals as staff assist customers. The top-right image showcases an open-faced tuna salad sandwich made with toasted whole wheat bread, crisp lettuce, thick tomato slices, creamy tuna salad, and red onion rings. The bottom-right image features a grilled chicken sandwich layered with tender chicken breast, cheddar cheese, fresh tomato slices, leafy lettuce, and a soft bun, highlighting the café's selection of fresh, wholesome sandwiches.

Al Marche sits at unit B1-02 and carries itself with a bit more polish than the surrounding stalls. While the basement has plenty of quick meals, this spot caught our attention with its focus on freshly prepared sandwiches, salads and grilled dishes.

The Order That Stood Out

We ordered the Tuna Mayo (S$11.90) with focaccia, a sandwich built with freshly tossed tuna mayo, sliced red onions, tomato and lettuce. The tuna was well-seasoned with a good mayo-to-salt ratio, and the whole thing was assembled with care.

For those who prefer something heartier, Al Marche also offers options like the Signature Grilled Chicken (S$11.90) and Signature Roast Beef (S$13.90), both served with the choice of freshly baked breads.

The Little Details

What stood out about Al Marche is that it does not feel like a typical grab-and-go sandwich stop. The bread choices, fresh fillings and salad options make the menu feel more considered, especially when you are looking for something lighter but still satisfying.

Price: S$11.90 | Location: #B1-02

6. Stuff'd (#B1-11) — Customisable Bowls With Plenty Of Choice

A bright, modern fast-casual restaurant counter with illuminated digital menu boards and a clean black-and-white service counter. Queue barriers stand in front of the ordering area, while warm overhead lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere. On the right, two takeaway meal boxes are displayed: one filled with vibrant orange salmon slices, green edamame, broccoli, and a creamy salad; the other packed with broccoli, sweet corn, cauliflower rice, pasta, and mixed vegetables. The collage highlights fresh, healthy grab-and-go meals in a contemporary food court setting with a clean, organized, and inviting aesthetic.

Stuff’d specializes in burrito-style wraps and rice bowls, and the Smoked Salmon Daily Bowl is the standout. The Daily Bowl format allows diners to choose their protein, vegetables, toppings and sauces, creating a meal that feels more personalised.

The Order That Stood Out

We ordered the Smoked Salmon Daily Bowl (from S$11.60), built around smoked salmon with a choice of base, vegetables, toppings and sauces. The smoked salmon brings a lightly savoury, briny note, while the fresh vegetables add crunch and balance to the bowl.

We paired it with a Fuze Tea Ice Lemon Tea, which added a refreshing citrus note alongside the richer flavours of the salmon and sauces.

The Little Details

What surprised us about Stuff’d was how customisable the experience feels. We liked that the bowl could be adjusted depending on what we were craving. Adding ingredients like avocado gives the smoked salmon a creamier contrast, while the vegetables keep the overall combination feeling fresh.

Price: From S$11.60 | Location: #B1-11

7. Heybo (#01-04 to 05) — Grain Bowls With A Global Twist

A three-panel collage showcasing healthy food options at Republic Plaza. The left panel shows a bright, modern food counter with illuminated menu boards, warm lighting, and customers ordering. The top-right panel features a nourishing salmon bowl with grilled salmon fillet, rice, corn, roasted Brussels sprouts, cherry tomato and cucumber salad, roasted vegetables, and a scoop of orange sweet potato mash, with dressing on the side. The bottom-right panel shows another wholesome bowl topped with a soft-boiled egg, grilled chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, roasted vegetables, and sweet potato mash, accompanied by a takeaway coffee cup. The overall atmosphere emphasizes fresh, balanced meals in a contemporary food hall.

Moving up to the ground floor, Heybo brings a different style of dining to Republic Plaza with its grain bowl concept built around fresh ingredients and globally inspired flavours. The Shibuya Nights bowl (from S$16.20) was what won our taste buds over, combining Japanese-inspired elements in one colourful bowl.

The Order That Stood Out

The Shibuya Nights brings together green soba, baked salmon, onsen egg, grilled mushrooms, oriental cabbage salad, furikake, avocado-edamame dip and beetroot miso. The variety of textures keeps the bowl interesting, from the creamy egg and avocado-edamame dip to the freshness of the vegetables and the savoury salmon.

We paired it with the Yuzu Citrus Fizzies (S$4.50), a sparkling drink with lemon compote and pomelo that added a bright citrus note alongside the richer ingredients in the bowl.

The Little Details

What makes Heybo stand out is the flexibility behind its bowl concept. Diners can choose from different combinations of proteins, grains, vegetables and sauces, making it easier for groups with different preferences to find something they enjoy.

Price: From S$16.20 | Location: #01-04 to 05

8. Saigon Rolls (#B1-03) — Light, Fresh Vietnamese Back in the Basement

A three-panel collage featuring a fresh Vietnamese roll stall at Republic Plaza. The left panel shows a modern food kiosk with staff preparing fresh rolls behind a glass counter, overhead menu boards displaying salads, roll sets, and rice paper rolls, and a large wall graphic reading "WE MAKE FRESH ROLLS." The top-right panel shows an open takeaway box containing three fresh Vietnamese rolls wrapped in translucent rice paper, served with two dipping sauces. The bottom-right panel is a close-up of two rice paper rolls—one filled with plump prawns, herbs, and vegetables, and the other with shredded meat, fresh greens, and herbs—highlighting the vibrant ingredients visible through the delicate wrappers.

Back downstairs, Saigon Rolls is the stall you go to when you want something genuinely light without sacrificing flavour. The Set of Three Summer Rolls starts from S$11.50 and comes with a Vietnamese drink pairing.

The Order That Stood Out

We ordered the Set of Three Summer Rolls (from S$11.50), which lets diners enjoy a mix of Vietnamese rice paper rolls with fresh vegetables, herbs and protein fillings. The thin rice paper keeps the rolls light, while the vegetables add crunch and freshness. Paired with the dipping sauce, each roll gets a balance of savoury, sweet and tangy notes.

The Little Details

What makes Saigon Rolls appealing is how different it feels from a typical quick meal. The menu focuses on fresh ingredients, from vegetables and herbs to lighter Vietnamese flavours. One of our team members, who had been to Vietnam a few times, said it reminded them of roadside rolls they’d had in Hanoi, minus the plastic stool.

Price: From S$11.50 | Location: #B1-03

9. Social Bar & Bistro (#01-01) — A Sit-Down Spot For Longer Catch-Ups

A three-panel collage featuring a stylish restaurant and its food at Republic Plaza. The left panel shows a modern dining space with a glowing turquoise bar, shelves lined with spirits, plush upholstered chairs, hanging greenery, and warm pendant lights creating an inviting atmosphere. The top-right panel features a plated slow-braised beef short rib served over creamy mashed potatoes with roasted cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, rich brown gravy, and a garnish of fresh sprouts. The bottom-right panel shows a tall glass of sparkling citrus drink with an orange slice and black straw on a marble table, with part of an appetizer plate visible in the foreground and the restaurant interior softly blurred in the background.

Social Bar & Bistro is the outlier in this list. It’s a proper bar and bistro setup on the ground floor, serving both local and international cuisines in a sit-down environment. We ordered the Ribeye Steak and split a Classic Margarita between two of us, which felt reasonable given it was technically still business hours.

The Order That Stood Out

The ribeye was cooked to order and plated properly. It’s the kind of dish that makes the bill feel justified. The margarita was well-balanced, not too sweet, not too sour.

The Little Details

The setting is comfortable for longer meet-ups, the kind where you need a table, some breathing room, and a reason not to rush. It reminded us, briefly, of a bistro you might find tucked into a quiet street somewhere in the Middle East or Europe, one that handles the food and drinks with confidence.

Price: Varies | Location: #01-01

10. Joe & Dough (#02-03) — Bakery on the Upper Floor

A three-panel collage featuring Joe & Dough at Republic Plaza. The left panel shows the café storefront with a clean, minimalist design, a large "JOE & DOUGH" sign above the entrance, a bright service counter, pastry display, and digital menu boards. The top-right panel features a cup of latte with heart-shaped latte art, served in a brown Joe & Dough cup and saucer. The bottom-right panel shows a rustic ciabatta sandwich filled with sliced mushrooms, melted cheese, creamy sauce, and shredded seaweed, served on a white plate atop a wooden table. The collage highlights the café's modern atmosphere and selection of coffee and freshly prepared sandwiches.

Joe & Dough is on the second floor, which makes it slightly out of the way for basement regulars. That’s their loss. With its mix of coffee, snacks, pastries and bakes, it offers a more café-like setting for those looking to enjoy a delicious meal at a gentler pace.

The Order That Stood Out

We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Ciabatta (S$10.50), a sandwich built with teriyaki chicken, toasted nori, sliced pineapple and ciabatta bread. The combination brings together savoury and slightly sweet notes, while the ciabatta gives the sandwich a more substantial bite.

We paired it with a Flat White (from S$7.30), which complements the sandwich with its smooth espresso and milk balance. Together, the pairing makes for an easy choice when you are looking for something between a full meal and a quick coffee stop.

The Little Details

What struck us about Joe & Dough was how consistent it felt. No surprises, no disappointments. In a building with a lot of variety, there’s genuine comfort in a stall that simply does its thing well every time. Good coffee, a proper sandwich, and a slightly quieter corner to eat in. Some days that’s exactly the combination you need.

Price: Ciabatta S$10.50, Flat White from S$7.30 | Location: #02-03

11. TWG Tea (#01-09 to 10) — A TWG Tea Boutique Stop Worth Building Into Your Route

A three-panel collage showcasing TWG Tea at Republic Plaza. The large image on the left shows the elegant storefront with black-and-gold décor, illuminated shelves filled with signature tea tins, polished display counters, and a luxurious boutique café atmosphere inside the mall. The top-right image features a refined afternoon tea setting with smoked salmon and poached eggs on salad, a bowl of mixed greens, a cup of amber-colored tea, and a tiered stand holding toast. The bottom-right image shows a bright yellow TWG Tea shopping bag beside a matching gift box containing colorful macarons in shades of pink, cream, and chocolate, highlighting the brand's premium takeaway treats.

TWG Tea is genuinely one of the better ways to end a Republic Plaza visit, or bridge the gap between lunch and the afternoon.

The Order That Stood Out

We went for the Smoked Salmon & Matcha Blinis (S$34), a dish that brings together Scottish smoked salmon, poached shrimp, artisanal pickles, dill cream and Matcha blinis served with a mesclun salad.

The combination works because each element adds something different. The smoked salmon brings richness, while the pickles and salad introduce freshness. The Matcha blinis add TWG Tea’s signature touch, giving the dish a more distinctive identity than a typical smoked salmon plate.

To pair with it, we chose the Summer Rouge Tea Mocktail (S$16), made with raspberry purée, yuzu juice and Eternal Summer Tea. The fruity notes and citrus character provide a refreshing contrast against the savoury components of the dish.

The Little Details

The TWG Tea counter at Republic Plaza carries a curated selection, so it functions well as a treat or a thoughtful add-on. If you’re already in the building and want something that won’t spoil lunch, or want to carry a good cup of tea back to your desk, this is a reliable stop. Not every visit to a food building needs to end with a full meal.

Location: #01-09 to 10

12. Bacha Coffee (#01-08) — A Moroccan-Inspired Coffee Stop With A Sweet Pairing

A three-panel collage featuring Bacha Coffee at Republic Plaza. The large image on the left shows the boutique café's elegant interior with warm gold accents, black-and-white checkered flooring, orange pendant lights, and shelves lined floor-to-ceiling with signature coffee tins. A glass pastry display showcases croissants, pastries, and baked treats while staff serve customers behind the counter. The top-right image captures a coffee service with a polished gold coffee pot, a cup of black coffee, an iced coffee, whipped cream, and a small creamer arranged on a branded table. The bottom-right image features a box of Bacha Coffee chocolate-striped croissants, with two pastries displayed in the foreground, highlighting the café's premium baked offerings.

Bacha Coffee rounds out the Republic Plaza food options as another boutique takeaway stop, this one centered on coffee. The sweet croissant and takeaway coffee set comes in at S$10, which positions it as an accessible treat rather than a splurge.

The Order That Stood Out

We went for the coffee and gourmet sweet croissant set (S$10), which pairs a takeaway coffee with one of Bacha Coffee’s signature pastries. The combination works well for those who enjoy a lighter bite, with the buttery croissant complementing the rich aroma of freshly prepared coffee.

With coffee sourced from different regions around the world, Bacha Coffee also gives diners the chance to explore different flavour profiles depending on their chosen blend.

The Little Details

What makes Bacha Coffee memorable is the experience behind the brand. Inspired by Moroccan coffee heritage, the boutique brings a more luxurious feel to a simple coffee stop, from its presentation to its wide selection of Arabica coffees and pastries.

It may not replace a full lunch spot, but it fits nicely into the Republic Plaza list as a place to end a meal, meet briefly over coffee or pick up something special before leaving the area.

Price: From S$10 | Location: #01-08

Why Republic Plaza Deserves A Closer Look

After exploring Republic Plaza, we realised there is much more hiding behind its corporate exterior than we expected. From ayam bakar and Korean bento downstairs to pasta, tea-infused dishes and coffee upstairs, the hardest part was deciding what to order next.

With the Republic Plaza address at 9 Raffles Place, Singapore 048619, getting here is easy, but the variety is what makes it interesting. Most outlets operate mainly on weekdays, with some opening on weekends excluding public holidays, so checking individual hours before visiting is a good idea.

Whether you are looking for an affordable rice meal, a sandwich with better ingredients, or a sit-down dish with pasta and cheese, Republic Plaza has more range than its exterior suggests. Just come hungry because choosing one place might be the real challenge.
